Taxes

Then we have taxes and national registration (sv. folkbokföring)

Skatteverket – the National Tax Board of Sweden

If you are away less than one year you do not need to unregister from the national registration. But are you gone more than one year then you it is best if your leave the national registration.

Taxes…

Skatteverket has something that called rule of six months (sv. sexmånadersregeln) . If you are away less than one year you do not need to pay taxes to Sweden. You do not need to fill a form or something. Just go!

Remember that!!! to save all your detailed description of your salary/salary statement (sv. lönespecifikation/lönebesked) and documents that you have paid taxes in Canada. Before you coming home try to get a document from the National Tax Board of Canada how much taxes you have paid and when. Otherwise you normally will have how much taxes your pay in your detailed description of your salary. Then it will be easier to show/proof on the  income-tax return form (sv. deklarationsblankett) when you will be back under “Övriga upplysningar” (eng. other information) that you have been to Canada and worked and you have paid taxes in Canada.
